What kind of website is focusandshoot.net?
focusandshoot.net is a project for a collaborative photoblog. As a bunch of open-minded amateurs in love with still images, we thought that a collaborative photoblog would give us two shots at lasting longer :
- We already take pictures as a hobby, which means we have the raw material.
- We are all contributing to the same photoblog, applying a solid “the more, the merrier” principle.

Naturally rational and quiet, I consider Photography as one of the fields in which I can try to express a bit of sensitivity and poetry. Even though I’ve always been attracted by ‘this little hole in the camera’, and as a techno addict, I personally owned my first camera in the early 2000’s with arising of digital equipments, and switched to SLR with the first digital ones. Since then, I’ve tried to develop both my technique and point of view. Being aware that it is a long process, FocusandShoot is therefore a way to share with people and to get feedback in order to keep on learning.

Raph
…carries a camera since 1985, a digital one since 2000, but has only been trying to be serious about it in 2008 when the compact camera suddenly transformed into an SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera. He is still in the experimental phase on every aspect of the photography technique but already in love with textures, patterns and shapes. Formerly based in New York City, now back in Paris, Raph is the one responsible for the New York tag getting so big in the tag cloud.
